Getting to Know… Eating Out

You’ll be surprised to find options from early morning to night dining and/or takeaway 7 days a week, although you will need to cook at home Monday nights! And you may have to travel the 9-minute triangle to suit all your food needs. It’s a lot to chew over, so we are providing a crude summary list of early morning and evening possibilities only here. The separate Loch/Nyora/Poowong sections have more detail on each place and where to find them. Remember to check for seasonal changes in operating times!

Breakfast

  • First to open at 6.30am is Little Boy Brew van (Loch), providing coffee and morning extras. 6 days Monday to Saturday.

  • Olive at Loch opens 7.00am every day (7 days)

  • Loch Village cafe and Foodstore opens at 7.30am every day (7 Days)

  • Just a Teaspoon (Loch) bakery and delights from 8.00am to 2-ish, 5 days Thursday to Monday

  • Nyora Foodworks, open 7 days (takeaway Indian style) from 7.30am

  • The Hub Cafe, Nyora, sit-down snacks, Open 6 days (Mon-Fri) from 8.30am-4.30pm. Early closure 2.00pm Saturday.

  • The Heartland Cafe, Poowong, open 7 days from 8.00am-3pm.

  • Poowong Cafe and Takeaway. Open 6 days (Tue-Sunday) from 8.00am

Dinner and late takeaways

  • Loch Wine Bar 3 days, Friday to Sunday (12.00pm until late)

  • Loch and Key Restaurant 4 days, Friday to Sunday (12.00pm until 10.00pm), Thursday (from 4.00pm to 9.00pm).

  • Nyora Pizza and Takeaway. Takeaway only. Available 5 days 4.00-8.00pm Wednesday and Thursday, 12noon to 8.00pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday

  • Poowong Cafe and Takeaway. Open 6 days (Tue-Sunday). Takeaways last orders 7.30pm, earlier closing Saturday 3.00pm.

  • Poowong Hotel. Dinner 4 days (Wed-Saturday) 5.30-8.30pm. Senior dinners Wed-Friday.
